This week went by super quick! On Tuesday we had district council (they changed the name from district meeting) and then went on exchanges. I was with Elder Southam which was a blast. We didn't have a pan so we literally cooked quesadillas on tin foil.

We walked around so much and we got to teach Enrique. Elder Southam loved it because we got to speak in English. But Enrique is doing good, we are trying to help him learn more about God and how Christ can help him personally.
Then on Wednesday we switched back and went to interview with President Mutombo. He likes to take his time so we were there all night and then Elder Casey didn't get to go so we still have to plan that. But they were so awesome.
President Mutombo has so much energy and always says, "Strong like a dolphin!" He is the greatest. One of the things he said to me was "You have been given power in the name of Jesus Christ to promise people blessings in their lives. Use it." He is a spiritual powerhouse.
Then on Thursday we had good ol' weekly planning and then walked around a ton. Friday we went out to Damascus and went to visit the Ventura family. We knock on the door and he was cooking pork on the barbecue. So we start talking and we talk a little about general conference and stuff. Then we were about to leave and he was like "whoa aren't you going to stay and eat?" so we stayed and ate. Then Luis came over, his wife is a member, and so we talked about him and he pushed his baptismal date back to the 20th of October which would be so sweet. But he was like "ya I want to learn more and take it seriously" so it was such a  great night.
Then on Saturday we went to a service project out in Brunswick. We didn't know what we were going to be doing but we were just told to bring service clothes. So we show up and we figure everything out. We helped clear trail for a cross country track/mountain bike course. So they gave us these giant spatula/fork things to rip up the ground so we went to work.

There was a bunch of people there and we got a lot done. There was this super funny member that was talking to me and there was a tree and he goes "oh give me 2 minutes to get this thing down, with a saw like this and (he flexes) guns like these." It was a good time. But 2 missionaries hurt their legs because of already existing injuries so that was not good.
Then on Sunday we had Stake Conference again but this time we translated. It was literally so stressful haha I was listening to English and then just speaking in Spanish while trying to listen to what the dude was saying. But I realized how many phrases just don't quite translate to Spanish and how many filler words there are. I feel so bad for the people that had to listen to me, when I started I messed up so much lol it was so bad. But I actually really enjoyed it. Then later in the evening Hno ventura told us to come over again so we stole the car and drove down to Damascus. We had some really good pasole. He showed us how to get it all ready and it was so fun. Then more members started coming over and the room got so loud. There was so much Spanish and I was just about Spanish-ed out for the day. But we talked to Luis again and started teaching him from the beginning. He is going to progress super fast and its exciting to see it happening. Then we went over to the Ramirez house and talked to him for a little about ministering. Overall a bumping week and we got a lot done. Next week they are going to change the Branch Presidency because Presidente Advincula is getting deployed to Korea. But love and miss you all!
