This week has been a week of ups and downs. We have been seeing miracles come and then we have seen things just turn to nothing. Last preparation day way a blast since we went sledding with the Lucas family. They brought their friend that we are teaching so it was a good time.
We had a lesson after dinner and she was pumped to meet again. She even cancelled a family dinner to meet with us later that week.
Then on Thursday we had a powerful lesson and she said she wanted to be baptized that Saturday. So we set everything up, had the interview ready and all that jazz. But her family didn't respond super well to the news and she had to cancel. But she still wants to be taught and learn more, just wait a little longer for the baptism.
Plus on last Monday we had a lesson with German who said he would her baptized with or without his family. We texted him yesterday and our number was blocked. So it's been crazy hard to actually have people pull through.
Monday night we had like 30 minutes with nothing to do so we went to a trailer park to knock doors. This lady opens the door and let's us right in. Her husband was well under the influence and they were fighting. Then she just starts crying and told us about how she was praying for someone or something to come. She kept saying it was a miracle. Which it totally was because we hadn't planned to go there, but we were led right to her.
Then during the week we found a girl who had been on date and was progressing towards baptism like 10 months ago. She was so excited to see us and really wanted to go to church. But then we tried by again and they haven't answered or let us in while they've been home. We got to visit this lady in our ward named Sister Carnley. Man is she a spiritual powerhouse. Her husband was a general authority of the church so she know a lot of stuff. She was telling us about how "Jeff Holland is such a prankster" like she knows all the apostles on a first name basis. We had exchanges and I was with Elder Hope. He is so cool Haha. I had such a great time with him.
Then during the week we were able to go to the hospital and give a blessing to a member who is staying there. Man looking back we knocked a lot of doors this week lol. Sunday came around and nobody showed up for church that we invited. It was kinda frustrating. But God had different plans than us. These 2 guys showed up and sat down. We get to know them and they really need some help. We visited them after church and yesterday. They are so humble and are super grateful. Skippy and his friend have both served in the marines and have really rough backgrounds. They are the coolest dudes ever though! They are hilarious and Skippy talks to us like we are in the military or something. So they are definitely a miracle. That's been the highlight of the week. We were having a rough week until we met them. So it's been an interesting 8 days here Winchester. Love and miss you all!
